During the presentation of the new Roadmap for the Decarbonization of the Textile and Clothing Industry, Luís Ramos, from CITEVE, highlighted the journey towards decarbonization in the textile industry, but stressed that there are still “significant numbers” of carbon emissions to be reduced in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
The project, aims to create tools for companies to achieve decarbonization, reaching the target of reducing emissions by 90%.
Some national companies, including ACATEL, are already taking important steps in this direction, contributing by using renewable energies, recyclable materials and offering innovative solutions that promise to preserve the planet.
